From 9 till 13 May Europe's best gymnasts gathered in Brussels for the European Championships Women's Artistic Gymnastics.
These competitions runned during one week in the halls of Brussels Expo, at the Atomium.

The belgian team achieved a well done 6th place.
Julie Croket qualified for the final on the ground and ended on the 8th place.

It was the belgian company Mauquoy who had the honour to make the medals that were rewarded.

On April the 2nd, the amusement park Plopsaland in De Panne has welcomed its 10 millionth visitor!
It was the family Vander Linden from Hoeilaart who had the honor. King Plop decorated the children to knights who are now the pride owners of a real Plop-medal.
The medal was designed and made by Mauquoy.

On Thursday March the 29th, the University of Antwerp has rewarded its honoraries doctorate. In total, there were 5 honorary doctors:

1) Bernard McGinn (Faculty Letters and Philosophy)
2) Peter J. Katzenstein (Faculty Political and Social Science)
3) Harald zur Hausen (Faculty Medical and Health Science)
4) Luc Devroye (Faculty Sciences)
5) Franco Dragone (general merit)

It was Mauquoy that had created the necklace with medal and the award.

On September 29th, Vepec's award Gouden Welp 2011 ("Golden Cub 2011") was elected in Antwerp.
This award is given to the best belgian advertisement of 2011 and was won by the agency Mortierbrigade for their commercial "Equal Pay Day".

Here, you can have a look at the nominees and the winners.

For this years awards, it was Mauquoy who had designed and created the prestigious trophy. The result was a beautifull cub in gold plated cupper, embedded in a plexi tombstone which was lightened up by a LED inside.

From September 16th on, you can buy very easily slides in our webshop. These ribbon bars measure 37 x 10 mm which you can slide over metal slideholders.
These slides are woren by military staff, firemen and policemen.

In Belgium, there are 4 official marks of honour which can be given to persons with a certain number of years service.

Wallpaper invited Michaël Verheyden to be part of their Handmade exhibition during the design week in Milan. For this event, the young belgian designer, who has won in 2009 the prestigious "Henry Van de Velde Award", created a luxurious box which provides everything a designer might need to complete a sketch or drawing, complete with secret compartments and a nubuck-covered divider, to which is attached a brass ruler, a set square, scissors and a ration gauge. Under the divider sits a stamp pad, a marble paperweight and tool to remove excess ink, and three brass stamps. The whole box is covered in oak veneer.
For his protype, Michaël Verheyden asked Mauquoy to engrave and finish the brass rules, set square, scissors and the ration gauge.

The company Bonne & Verbeke from Sint-Niklaas, manufacturer of medals of honour and accessories, had to face hard time lately because of the healt problems of its director Bruno Verbeke.

In order to garanty to his customers the best service, he had no other choice then to leave his family business to the company Mauquoy.

From May the 18th on, Bonne & Verbeke will be part of the Mauquoy Group.

After the very successfull opening weekend, the MAS (Museum aan de Stroom/Museum at the River), was open for public on Tuesday 17th of May.

In presence of king Albert and queen Paola, President of the European Commission Barrosso, the Chinese actress Ziyi Zhang and the entire city council of Antwerp, the inauguration plaque has been officially revealed.

Being a well known engraving company, Mauquoy had made this plaque which should commemorate the opening of the MAS.
